Head Teacher
About us At Calvary Nursery School we offer a hands-on, integrated teaching approach where learning doesn’t take place in one lesson, but rather throughout the day and in everything we do. We focus on creating an awareness of and an appreciation for, the natural world and our role within it. We nurture the development of each child in a safe and inspirational learning environment dedicated to the Episcopal values of faith, hope, love, service and forgiveness.
We are seeking a Head Teacher to guide the learning and development of our students by planning and implementing an age-appropriate play and inquiry-based learning curriculum for our nursery school. Calvary Nursery School has a strong emphasis on exploring the natural world, to this end, the candidate should be comfortable leading outdoor adventures and would manage a collaboration with New England Science & Sailing (NESS). The candidate would also lead the teaching team, develop relationships with parents, ensure the school operates in accordance with all Connecticut OEC licensing requirements, and the NAEYC Code of Ethics, and all best safety practices. Candidate will liaise with the school’s Advisory Board and parish leadership and should be comfortable working in a church-affiliated school which incorporates an inclusive spiritual perspective grounded in the Episcopal tradition. Position requires bachelor's degree in early childhood education or including 36 hrs. of ECE course work. A full-time 10-month position with benefits.

Pay: $36,000.00 - $38,800.00 per year
